Purported al-Qaida tape urges Muslims to fight U.S. in Iraq Message believed to be first from group about occupation

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan--An audiotape, purportedly from an al-Qaidamilitant, calls on Muslims around the world to travel to Iraq andfight the U.S.-led occupation.

The speaker on the audiotape, aired Monday on Al-Arabiyatelevision, claimed to be Abdur Rahman al-Najdi, a Saudi-bornmilitant sought by the United States.

A wanted poster for al-Najdi was circulated by U.S. forces inAfghanistan earlier this year, alongside others for Osama bin Laden,Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar and other militants.
